The equestrian sport is a group of disciplines that involve riding a horse, such as dressage, eventing, show jumping, and endurance. These sports are governed by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). The FEI World Equestrian Games, which is held every four years in the middle of the Olympic cycle, is the pinnacle of equestrian sport.
As the practice of horsemanship spread along the Silk Roads so did a number of traditional games and sports involving horseback. These games are often accompanied by musical performances and have a prominent place in the literature, proverbs, art, and handicrafts of those communities that take part in them. Chogan, for example, is an early precedent to the polo game and involves two teams of players on horseback competing to pass a ball between their opponent’s goal posts using sticks.
Whether they’re used for transport or competition, horses were an integral part of life for the nomadic pastoralists that lived in the unique environment of the steppe and the sedentary peoples that populated the neighbouring lands. They occupied such a prominent position that they came to represent a key component of the cultural representations of these interconnected societies and their heritage, appearing in painting, illuminated manuscripts, statues, ceramics, and more.
From this, a range of equestrian sports emerged, many of which are now part of the modern Olympics. While equestrian competitions remain popular worldwide, a more diverse selection of equestrian sports and games have evolved into the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) competition. The WEG is the pinnacle of equestrian competition, combining eight World Championship caliber equestrian disciplines: dressage, eventing, driving, jumping, para-equestrian dressage, endurance, and reining.
Developed by Kavalri Games, equestrian the game is a simulation title that allows you to live out your dreams of becoming a professional equestrian. The game lets you compete in different tournaments by riding horses of various breeds and personalities. It also offers management gameplay as you build a farmstead and expand your abilities as a horse breeder. As you collect more horses, you can train them to improve their stats and participate in competitions. However, the game can get stale and slow-paced, plus it’s prone to frequent crashes.
